Any holiday is a great reason for a marketer to think about how to increase sales and fuel interest in their brand, and even more so when it comes to a major holiday.

In the pre-Easter rush, consumers are more inclined to spend and buy than on ordinary days.

Here's a great example of how you can play with the Easter theme in a creative way, even if your company has nothing to do with the holiday.

Would you be surprised if we told you that this is a poster of the Cologne Zoo? You will agree that this is a very unusual approach, and it's great. This poster became popular, and the zoo management decided to print greeting cards based on this idea.

The Cadbury chocolate company recorded a beautiful Easter video showing them dropping three giant Easter eggs into Loch Ness as part of their #EggsEverywhere campaign. The chocolate eggs were of an impressive size (about the size of a double-decker bus), and this, of course, could not go unnoticed. Almost everyone in the UK was hunting for the chocolate giants, taking selfies and posting a fun chase on social media. The chocolate maker spent about $6 million on the humorous campaign. But, given the interest they aroused among consumers, it was worth it. 

Here is an advertising campaign in support of the Easter Urban Arts Week from a decade ago. But it looks appropriate and relevant even today.

Hotel Chocolat didn't miss the holiday fever by creating a "chocolate UFO" - a giant egg that mysteriously floated over different parts of the UK.

"We hope that we have breathed new life into this time of year and shown how magical chocolate can be," commented the Hotel Chocolat team.
