Starlink is a telecommunications satellite system created by the American company SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk. The system should consist of about 12 thousand satellites located in the so-called low Earth orbit at three altitudes - 340 km, 550 km and 1150 km above the Earth. What will the new Internet be used for?
Starlink - Internet for all?
Starlink provides high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet around the world. Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis in each coverage area. Using advanced low-earth orbit satellites, Starlink enables video chatting, online gaming, streaming and other high-speed data experiences that were previously not possible over satellite internet.
Users can expect download speeds of 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps and latency of 20 ms in most locations. The Starlink kit comes with everything you need to connect to the Internet, including the Starlink device, Wi-Fi router, cables, and lawn mounting brackets. To connect to the Internet, the Starlink antenna must have a clear view of the sky. Therefore, it makes sense to download the Starlink app to determine the best installation location.

Why do you need the Internet from Starlink?
Starlink is ideal for regions where the connection was unreliable or completely unavailable. People all over the world use Starlink to access education, healthcare, and even communications support during natural disasters. Starlink is also a leader in innovations aimed at reducing satellite brightness, minimizing the impact on astronomy and preserving the natural night sky.
SpaceX is leveraging its expertise in rocketry and spacecraft to deliver the world's most advanced broadband Internet system. As the world's leading provider of commercial in-orbit services - and the only provider of reusable orbital-class rockets - SpaceX has solid experience in both spacecraft and orbital operations, the company said.

How does the service work?
Service is guaranteed only at the service address specified in the order. If you move the Starlink outside of the programmed area, no satellite will be scheduled to operate on the Starlink device. Changing your service address may prevent you from returning to your original address due to access restrictions. Once you upgrade, service at your previous address will be discontinued. Orders are processed based on the date of your first Starlink order. If you move to a new location, your place in the queue at your new location will still be based on the date of your first order.
Starlink mobile application
To connect to the satellite Internet, the Starlink antenna must have a clear view of the sky. Most users do not accurately estimate the field of view of their Starlink antenna. To ensure the best possible quality of service, download the Starlink app before installation to estimate the field of view at your chosen installation location.

Starlink terminals are already in Ukraine
Elon Musk, President of SpaceX, personally oversaw the delivery of Starlink terminals to Ukraine. The Starlink terminals could prove to be extremely useful. Ukraine's Internet infrastructure so far seems to be functioning relatively well, despite the ongoing struggles not only in the physical world but also in cyberspace. The Internet is being used to continue to run the state relatively efficiently, as well as by ordinary citizens who can stay in touch with their loved ones in the war-torn country.
